“The Early Show on Saturday Morning” of (CBS News) interviewed Senior Technology Editor Dan Ackerman who took a look at the world of tech gadgets and the most anticipated releases scheduled for the New Year 2012.
Dan Ackerman also offered predictions on when we might see some of 2012’s hottest toys including an “Ice Cream Sandwich” by Android, PlayStation’s Vita, iPad3, and “ultrabooks” which is a PC version of the MacAir. He told a timeline of what we can expect each month of 2012.He projected 2012 technology timeline month by month as above.
In January we are having the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) which is going to be held in Las Vegas. This is the most awaited and anticipated technology show many of the top rated technology companies will show off their new products for the rest of the year. In February Sony’s new exciting and handheld gaming console PlayStation Vita will release in February. it’s an impressive piece of hardware, but we have to wait and see that can PlayStation Vita is able to compete with multifunction devices like the iPhone or Kindle Fire?
In March Apple Inc will release iPad 3.As the first two iPads were released in March or April; you can probably expect the next one around the same time. Rumors are a dime a dozen, from a higher-resolution screen to a smaller 7-inch version.
In April we will start to see Ultrabooks a new generation of very thin laptops, These are meant to be PC versions of the MacBook Air, but a bit less expensive.
In Midyear the world will see faster data networks, called 4G or LTE, get wider rollouts. That could mean surfing the Web on your phone will be faster, especially in big cities, where service can be sketchy.
In Summer Apple will pay tribute to the great Steve Jobs by releasing his last and final big project a big-screen Apple HDTV which is widely rumored, with a possible summer announcement. The Apple Inc will also release iPhone 5 in late summer fall probably in October everyone expects the iPhone 5 to have a new design, and maybe a larger screen.
In Summer Fall Microsoft will release the most awaited Windows 8,it’ll be time to upgrade your computer again, although a lot of people are still running Windows XP. The beta version of Windows 8 is expected in summer, with the final version a big question mark, for sometime in 2012.
Nintendo will release their new gaming console named the Nintendo Wii U, which combines a game console with a touch screen tablet controller.
