ColorWare, a company that specializes in creating custom devices and skins, today has announced a customized iPhone 7 Plus Retro edition that resembles the appearance of a vintage 1980’s era Macintosh, in the United States.
The vintage model of the iPhone 7 Plus features a multi color retro rainbow logo on the back side of the smartphone. One can also see dark beige stripes on the edges of the phone. Basically, they took a Jet Black iPhone 7 Plus and gave it a slightly beige finish.
“Painting the past is back!” explain ColorWare. “If you love the vintage look of the original 1980’s Mac, then why not have it on your phone!”
The product goes through a labor intensive process of disassembly, cleaning, masking, painting and inspection. Then, the product is buffed and reassembled, they explained.
ColorWare says the first 25 iPhone 7 Plus Retro edition smartphone units will include an authenticity number of the rear, thus making the device available for a limited time only. The iPhone 7 Plus smartphone with 256GB of built-in storage currently sells for $969 in the United States, while the ColorWare’s Retro-styled iPhone 7 Plus variant goes $1,899.
The smartphone comes with a lightning to USB cable, Earpods, and a USB Power Adapter. The device specification and features are same. It packs a 5.5 inch FHD display, an A10 Fusion processor with embedded M10 motion co-processor, 3GB of RAM along with 256GB of internal storage, dual camera setup; the first one is a wide-angle lens with a f/1.8 aperture, and the other is a telephoto lens with a f/2.8 aperture, while on the front, a 7 megapixel front-facing shooter with an f/2.2 aperture and the phone comes pre-loaded with iOS 10. The smartphone does not have a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
