NYPD Testing a new Technology to Detect Concealed Weapons

For peace keeping purpose government introduced different technologies. The New York police department working with the U.S department of defense on a new technology similar to infrared which capable to detect energy emitted from a human body but cannot pass through metal. The NYPD hopes that this technology would be fixed on police vehicles in up coming months, which initially can only used for three to four feet.
Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly addressing on Tuesday to the New York City police foundation said the department is working with the U.S Defense Department to develop a device that “capable of detecting concealed firearms at a distance.” He added “This technology has shown a great deal of promise as a way of detecting weapons without a physical search.”
The department’s chief spokesman Paul J. Browne says that this technology is under observation and we are extending the range to put it effective up to 25 meter’s, for this test are being carried out at the police shooting range at Rodman’s Neck.
